Our heritage in foundations and geotechnics has been
fundamentally linked with tunnel design and construction. This was
marked by the technical advances we develop-ed as the designers for
the Channel Tunnel, and has been carried forward to the further
tunnelling needs for Heathrow Terminal 5, the innovative SMART
tunnel project in Kuala Lumpur, the award-winning Boston Central
Artery tunnel jacking project, and the current management of the
Crossrail MDC3 package.
We undertake ground investigations, data management and high
quality finite difference and finite element modelling to assess
ground movements associated with tunnelling operations. A
particular skill area is that of settlement prediction, modelling,
monitoring, and remediation associated with tunnelling operations.
