Mott MacDonald has a long and successful history of providing
expert rock engineering world-wide, from investigation and
treatment of rock slope stability problems to the design of complex
underground structures for city-wide metro systems.
Rock anchor remediation work,
Mussenden Our approach starts with the procurement of a
first-class, phased geotechnical investigation, which is developed
from the initial desk study to a preliminary survey through to a
detailed investigation of areas of high geotechnical risk.
Investigation techniques typically comprise high quality triple
tube rotary coring with detailed discontinuity logging and
laboratory testing of retrieved cores.
Large volumes of data are efficiently managed through incorporation
into our geotechnical data management system which allows summary
plots, sections and reports to be produced.
The results of the investigation are used to characterise the rock
mass for input into the design process. Our rock engineering design
approach is also phased, starting with an empirical design, refined
through rock support interaction analysis and followed by numerical
modelling where appropriate. We provide our clients with best value
solutions in a timely manner.
